Recycle Bin

The new Recycle Bin feature in Kajoo offers a safety net for your projects and themes, ensuring you can easily recover deleted items before they’re permanently removed. This guide walks you through accessing, restoring, and managing deleted projects and themes.

1. Accessing the Recycle Bin

The Recycle Bin can be accessed from the sidebar in the Kajoo interface. Once you delete a project or theme, it will no longer be visible in the main Projects or Themes view. Instead, it will be moved to the Recycle Bin for safekeeping.

To access the Recycle Bin:

  • Step 1: Open the sidebar by clicking the menu icon (usually located at the top left).

  • Step 2: Locate the Recycle Bin option in the sidebar.

  • Step 3: Click on Recycle Bin to view all recently deleted items.

2. Viewing Deleted Items

The Recycle Bin will display all your deleted projects and themes. Each item is labeled with a clear message indicating its current status — that it is staged for deletion.

For each deleted item, you’ll also see a countdown showing how many days remain before it is permanently deleted.

3. Restoring Deleted Items

If you accidentally deleted a project or theme, don't worry! You can restore them directly from the Recycle Bin.

To restore an item:

  • Step 1: Find the item you want to restore in the Recycle Bin.
  • Step 2: Click the Restore icon by clicking on the 3 dots.
  • Step 3: The project or theme will be moved back to the Projects or Themes view after restoring it.

Restored items will reappear just as they were before deletion.

4. Permanently Deleting Items

If you’re sure you no longer need a deleted project or theme, you can permanently remove it from the Recycle Bin.

To permanently delete an item:

  • Step 1: Locate the item you wish to delete in the Recycle Bin.

  • Step 2: Click the Delete Permanently option next to the item.

  • Step 3: A confirmation message will appear, asking you to confirm the deletion. This ensures that items aren’t accidentally deleted.

Once you confirm, the item will be permanently removed from Kajoo, and it cannot be restored.

5. Expiration of Deleted Items

All deleted items in the Recycle Bin are kept for a two-week period before they are automatically and permanently deleted. You will be notified when you attempt to restore or delete an item that has passed the expiration period, and the item will no longer be available for recovery.

6. Expiration Notification

If you attempt to restore or permanently delete an item that is past its two-week expiration period, you will receive a notification letting you know that the item can no longer be recovered or removed.
