In this guide, you’ll learn how to create, clone, and delete a Design System in Kajoo — your centralized hub for managing design consistency across all your projects.

Design Systems make your workflow more efficient, ensure brand consistency, and allow you to scale designs across multiple projects with ease. Managing these systems correctly helps you avoid duplicated work, inconsistent styling, and manual errors.

1. Open the Design Systems Section

From the sidebar, click on “Design Systems” to access the section. You can create and manage your design systems from this section.

2. Create a New Design System

• Click on the “New Design System” button to start from scratch.

  

• Enter the design system name and click on create. Make sure the name is unique.

Benefit: Perfect for setting up a fresh brand identity or creating project-specific visual systems. Build once, reuse everywhere.

3. Clone an Existing Design System

To duplicate an existing system, go to the Design Systems section and click “Clone” on the one you want to copy.

Benefit: Cloning lets you reuse an existing system as a starting point, saving time and maintaining consistency while exploring variations or themes.

4. Delete a Design System

To delete a design system, click the three dots menu next to the design system you want to remove, then select “Delete”.

In the confirmation pop-up, type "Delete" and click the “Delete” button to finalize.

Note: Deleted design systems are moved to the Recycle Bin and can be restored within 14 days.

Benefit: Safe deletion with recovery options ensures accidental deletions don’t become permanent setbacks.

5. Set Design System as Default

You can set a design system as default. This means that it will automatically be selected when creating a project.

🗑️ Deleting a Design System That Is In Use

If the design system is currently applied to one or more projects, Kajoo will ask you to select a replacement for each affected project before deletion can proceed.

Benefit: This protects your projects from visual inconsistency or broken styles by ensuring every project still has an active design system in place.
